When the Army Materiel Command (AMC) employed me, I served in a variety of roles one of which was the senior technical advisor for architecture and technology (ostensibly the CTO for the CIO). AMC, a 53 Billion dollar year logistics command that serves as the army version of amazon for the army’s current inventory of weapons, supplies and vehicles. I extensive experience in implementing IT and telecommunications technology including hardware, software, and systems design as well as a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the IT industry and emerging technologies. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) and the Software Engineering Center. I served as the Program Manager for these elements and oversaw the planning, design, development, and implementation of an AMC wide enterprise architecture that addresses mission-critical objectives. I was successful in ensuring compliance with Federal Enterprise Architecture (EA), DOD and Army architecture principles and guidance. Successfully assessed the current technologies/architectures in use and develop strategies and implementation plans on transitioning the systems to meet the EA targets. I played a major enforcement role in ensuring sub components in the transition from the “As Is” to the “To Be” architecture. I developed documentation standards and produced an enterprise-wide set of policies and principles for integration of the AMC business, mission, application, information, and technology architectures. I also developed written enterprise architecture policies and procedures for acquisition, development and implementation of new systems and modification of existing systems in support of the commands enterprise
