Would you like to be shunned in front of everyone for something that you did wrong? I’m willing to bet that you would not like it at all. Now just imagine how the people who were actually shunned in public feel. The mass amount of embarrassment caused would cause the person getting punished not to commit the same mistake twice. The humiliation caused from a public shunning will prevent any future conflicts. Arnold Schwarzenegger, former professional bodybuilder and former governor of California is thought of as a legendary figure in our time. Schwarzenegger built himself a legacy out of nothing. Schwarzenegger did not use protection with Baena which resulted in Baena getting pregnant and giving birth to her son, Joseph, only five days after Schwarzenegger's fourth son (Patrick) with Shriver was born. It wasn’t until the love child was about seven years old that Schwarzenegger said ‘he started to look like me’ (CNN). Shriver came to realize this and confronted Schwarzenegger multiple times all of which he denied until he was confronted one last time in a marriage counseling session that he admitted to it (CNN). The affair happened in 1997 and Shriver didn’t find out until 2011. A secret that happened years ago is coming to bite Schwarzenegger like Hester’s affair did to her. Arnold cheated on his wife with his housekeeper and had a child with her. Both scandals included cheating on their significant other and had a child with the person they cheated with. The two scandals are very similar except Hester was publicly shamed in front of the whole town and Arnold was shamed just by the media and all who kept up with the story.
