Article A is against cooperation and liberalism because “A powerful state can create and enforce the rules and institutions of a stable global order in which to pursue its interests and security” (Article A, 3). From a realist perspective, cooperation does not work when it comes to personal interests and one state trying to acquire dominance. States are solely concerned with acquiring as much resources as possible to provide to their country. An example would be the British Empire and their overseas possessions.
