The functions of the human cardiopulmonary system can be broken down into two, circulatory system and the respiratory system. The main goal of these two systems is to maintain homeostasis in our body. Homeostasis can be described as a type of condition where the internal continuity of an individual has to keep steadiness, regardless of any external changes from the outside environment. External changes from the outside environment may include factors such as excitement, stress, exercise, diet, and much more. Exercise can be carried out because the human body can endure a high level of exercise during a prolonged period of time.

Professor Milica Radisica and her team from University of Toronto have developed a tissue scaffold that allows sheets of cardiomyocytes or heart cells to attach together in a similar fashion as velcro. This innovation is biocompatible which means that it can function with living systems such as tissue without causing any harm. This “Tissue Velcro” can be the next step in creating artificial tissues that can instantly replace damaged tissues. While some tissues such as bone, epithelial, and fibrous connective can already regenerate easily other tissues such as the cardiac muscle restore at a much slower pace. Silica Radisica and her team believe that tissue velcro can be the next best thing in imitating different tissue structures.
After the rollercoaster of emotions Hearties experienced last Sunday I think we deserved a much lighter episode this week, which is exactly what we got! I have heard it said by friends that they think of liberals as promoting policies that stem from the heart while conservatives think from the head. Although this may not be completely accurate for every conservative or liberal, I do believe that this description of the two major sides of most issues can be seen throughout conservative and liberal policies. For example, liberals are repeatedly outspoken when it comes to policies that expand the social safety net, for taxing the rich and giving money to the poor. I believe that much of these policies stem from a genuine moral standing on the part of liberal politicians and voters. Conservatives tend to shy away from policies that expand the welfare system because they genuinely believe that the
A simulated heart is a mechanical gadget, about the extent of an orange, which is associated with your heart or embedded in your chest to help or supplant a debilitating heart. It might have a few valves, a system to move blood forward, and at least one chambers. At times a counterfeit heart may help your heart incidentally, until yours recoups. If so, the simulated heart will be expelled when it is never again required. All the more usually, when there is irreversible heart muscle harm and your heart would t be able to recuperate, the counterfeit heart remains until the point that you can show at least a bit of kindness transplant.

Invasive species is an organism that is not native to a location or ecosystem and offer the potential to cause harm to not only the environment, but also to human health and the local economy. The introduction of these invasive species into an environment has had significant impacts on the conditions in which native species survive and their ability to adapt to counter the new threat. Invasive species compete with native species for food and resources
