It is used to make sure that the corpse is presentable on the day of the funeral.

In preparation for this paper I chose to read Fire in the ashes: twenty five years among the poorest children in America by Jonathan Kozol. In this book Kozol has followed these children and their family’s lives for the past twenty five years. In his writing Kozol portrays a point of view most from his background and standing would not be capable of having. He portrays what life is like for those who have been let down by the system that was meant to protect them. Kozols writing style can be very blunt at times, not for shock value, but for the sake of portraying these children’s realities, and not sugarcoating the inequalities that they are faced with.

Forensics and the field of Anthropology Imagine a world where criminals run freely. Detectives and police officers collect evidence the same way as they do today, but there is one main difference. I just stood there as the coffin containing the king was lowered into the ground. The large wooden box painted with elaborate gold designs and jewels as big as my 12 year old fists. The expertly carved marble grave stone etched with the words, long live the king. I didn’t know what to say, because along with the dead man in the box being the king he was also my father. I sighed as I woke to my normal setting of dreary gray stone.

Nowadays debris is an integral part of humanity life. Mankind thinks about how to make the product easier and cheaper to use, but nobody cares what happens with waste after it was used. We contaminate the environment with every decade increasingly: muddied air and water, global warming are an output of human life. The worst thing is that from such attitude other living beings are dying. Millions of animals and birds cannot withstand such environmental changes; their populations become smaller and, eventually, disappear altogether from the face of the earth.
The practice of mummification began around 2600 BC. It began in Ancient Egypt, where dead bodies were prepared for the afterlife. Many people today perceive mummification as a simple process in which the body is wrapped in cloth and buried, however, it was much more complicated than that. Altogether, preservations took roughly seventy days for each body. During those seventy days, there were many necessary alterations to the body that needed to be completed before the final step of wrapping.
