Introduction: The Assabet river is a well known river that runs through Westborough, Northborough, Marlborough, Berlin, Hudson, Stow, Maynard, Acton, and Concord, MA. The river is about 34 miles long and is home to many aquatic animals and plants. The plants range from Chiliensis to Anubias, and they grow around the borders of the river. The Assabet river has different water temperatures, depending on the location. The purpose of this lab is to determine whether or not the Assabet river temperature affect the plants near and in the river. Therefore, if the water temperature is between 12 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius, it will then sustain plants near and in the river because the ideal temperature for plant growth is 20 degrees Celsius.
Methodology: A notebook, phone, thermometer, and pencil were brought to the Assabet

All of the water temperatures and plant appearance vary. On June 1st, the first location was 20 degrees Celsius and had plants. However, on June 8th, the third location was also 20 degrees Celsius and did not support plants. This data suggests that the water temperature did not affect the growth of plants. Despite this, the Assabet river usually stayed around 12-21 degrees Celsius, which means that the Assabet river has an average temperature. One human source of error that could have affected the experiment was not keeping the thermometer in the water for enough time. No one in the group actually kept an eye out on the time, and the thermometer usually moved from the river current. This would have affected the experiment because the results would not of been accurate. One non-human source of error that could have affected the experiment was having a broken thermometer. On June 7th, the thermometer looked dull in color which would of meant it was damaged. This would have affected the experiment because again, the results would not of been
