Hello, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Today, I am here to talk about a highly debated question since 1906. Should assisted suicide be legal? To start of, I am going to introduce a courages women named Brittany Maynard who fought for the legalisation of assisted suicide for her hometown, California, while diagnosed with an aggressive, terminal, brain cancer in 2014 at the age of 29. She underwent treatment and surgery, but the cancer continued to grow. With only months to live, and determined to avoid the agonising death the cancer would inflict, she relocated to Oregon to access its death-with-dignity law because aid in dying was not available in her home state of California. She decided to die-with-dignity because she didn’t want her family and friends to see her suffer through the treatments. Because she thought this issue was missed understood by a lot of people, in her final weeks, Brittany raised her voice on behalf of aid in dying, so that others could have access to this end-of-life option everywhere. …show more content…

If I was in Brittany’s shoes, I will choose this for myself; but I would never sit here and tell anyone else that they should choose it for them. But, my question is who thinks they can sit there and tell me that I don’t deserve this choice? Who has the right to tell me that I deserve to suffer for weeks or months in exceptional amounts of physical and emotional pain? Why should anyone have the right to make that choice for me or everyone else in the world that are suffering from a disease that is
