Athena was known for her knowledge and wisdom and played an active role in the lives of many warriors, kings, and heroes. Athena was the daughter of Zeus and Metis; though Zeus feared that Metis would give birth to a more powerful child than him, so he swallowed Metis so she could no longer give birth. Athena then emerged out of her father’s head full-grown. Athena is a hero because she was a strong and powerful god as she portrayed the roles of her father Zeus and mother Metis, while she fought in wars alongside heroes and warriors, protected those who were too weak to be on their own and her ability to invent useful crafts for wars and protection.

During the Trojan war, she fought alongside the Greeks, as well as inspired Odysseus to create a wooden horse that later helped him return home. Though Athena took part in many wars, helping people escape or kill others, she was a true protector of those around her and strived to fight and protect through many challenges.
Athena protected those who were weak and could not survive on their own. She ended up raising a child that was not her own. Hephaestus became attracted to Athena and tried to force her to love him. She resisted Hephaestus and he fell to the ground, turning him into a half-man, halfsnake named Erichthonius. Athena didn’t know what to do or where to put this creature that had just been born, so she put him in a box and gave him to the daughters of Cecrops. Athena told them to take care of him, but to not look in the box, that they would be scared. Not following
