Athletes bring new meaning to “living the dream”. I agree with Jesse Edelman that athletes are overpaid. Athletes make more than many Americans who will work a full-time job until they are about 70-years old. An average American family income is $54,000, while last year LeBron James made $71 million last year. People who risk their lives do not make near as much as an athlete does in one day. Athletes make way to much money for playing a simple sport. People who risk their lives such as nurses and police don 't make near as much money as athletes. Nurses make around $95,333 per year, that 's $842,167 less than Peyton Manning does in one football game. Police officers make around $56,260 per year. That’s $315,118 less that Kobe Bryant does
