Wars are one of the most scariest things for many people. Wars were once always usually a army of troops going against another army of troops at a specific location with just guns. Now as time has progressed, we begin to see that weapons have advanced (which changes up the ways we fight in wars) along with many upgrades and the creation of many new weapons, such as the atomic bomb. An Atomic Bomb is an explosive device (looking almost like a missile) that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission bomb or a combination of fission and fusion (thermonuclear weapon). At the time, many opposed the usage of the bomb to be dropped such as the U.S. Generals MacArthur and Eisenhower, but as history shows, the former President Harry S. Truman didn't seem to listen, he still decided to call the order of dropping the bomb. The reason President Harry S. Truman dropped the two bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was because since Truman was feeling discouraged by the Japanese response to the Potsdam Conference’s demand for unconditional surrender, he had decided to utilize the Atomic Bomb to possible bring an end to the war. It was also to prevent what he predicted would be a much larger amount of death (this were only if the United States were to invade the Japanese mainland by land). When it came time for the actual bomb that hit Hiroshima, this bombing didn't get the Japanese to surrender. That when they decided to bomb Nagasaki next but the Japanese didn't immediately surrender. Soon, the soviets comes in and declares war, which finally got the Japanese to make a choice of surrendering. Overall, the two bombs used by the United States caused there to be a remaining of twenty eight thousand buildings after the bombing. In addition, out of the two hundred doctors and one thousand seven hundred and eighty nurses alive before the explosion, there were only twenty doctors and one hundred and fifty nurses who remained alive or capable of
