From the lesson of training, I also realized the weight that officers hold when it comes to building trust, motivating, and pushing their soldiers. They are going to expect the utmost level of skill as well as professionalism that you must provide as an officer. In return, it is your right to expect the same level of excellence from your soldiers, being there to push them above the standard and holding them to being experts and professionals. Valley Forge Military Academy is basically a rehabilitation camp for those who believe the rules of their parents or the law don’t abide by them. With its name comes the very definition of what it is, a Military Academy. Valley Forge has ranks in their units just as normal military system would, especially for their lesser ranks. The lowest of the Academy is called a plebe. According to Valley Forge plebes are lower than nothing.
Then deciding my classes for high school I knew I would be participating in the JROTC program. One of the first things I was drawn to was the uniform, which symbolizes honor, duty, loyalty, responsibility and high expectations. But only when I started to wear that uniform did I begin to understand the ROTC’s rich history, the many ways it builds character and community in the present, and it 's exciting goals for the future. The ROTC mission, established one hundred years ago, is “to motivate young people to become better citizens.”
This is my 2022-2023 cadet essay for JROTC. Some things in JROTC can be improved, and I will be covering the ideas and initiatives I will take. JROTC is a wonderful and exciting program, but no program can be perfect and that’s ok! But just like any program, we can work to ensure that our cadets have a safe and comfortable time. Let’s start with my first idea.
Once looked upon primarily as a source of enlisted recruits and officer candidates, it became a citizenship program devoted to the moral, physical and educational uplift of American youth. The program continues its military structure and the result ability to infuse in its student cadets a sense of discipline and order, it shed most of its early military content. The study of citizenship, communications, leadership, life skills and other subjects to prepare young men and women to take their place in adult society. More recently, an improved student centered curriculum focusing on character building and civic responsibility is being presented in every JROTC classroom.
My previous experience with ROTC in school and various leadership positions in school have already staged me to command a crew and deal with high stress environments on a daily basis and still thrive. The added bonus of knowledge mixed with leadership capabilities makes me a great candidate for this position. I am prepared to learn how to direct personnel operations, manage shipboard vertical launch systems, use computer displays and advanced technology in battle and ship defense, and provide support to Navy expeditionary
My steadfast desire to attend a service academy is rooted from my determination to become the best officer I can possibly be. Service academies focus on a career in the military which has become by life 's dream. The atmosphere at a service academy ensures I will have every resource available to help me mature mentally, morally, and physically to reach my goal. Traditional colleges or universities may offer some military oriented courses such as ROTC programs, however, I am not seeking a course, I am seeking a lifestyle which is assured at a service academy. I feel the daily rigors presented at a service academy will help me prepare for the challenges I will be faced within the fleet more so than a traditional college or university.
It has been been a goal of mine to attend the United States Naval Academy after visiting Annapolis with my grandparents in 2012. Since visiting the Naval Academy I knew that I wanted to serve America with the utmost honor and integrity. The Naval Academy Summer Seminar would give me the ability to hone my leadership skills and give me valuable experience that I could use as a Navy Midshipman and throughout life. This summer experience is an opportunity of a lifetime because it will allow me to understand and benefit from the mental and physical challenges the academy provides. I find many Common roots between Army values, custom, and norms that I grew up with which define me as the person that I am, values such as Loyalty, Respect, Honor and Integrity. Over the course of six years serving in the United States Army I learn and achieves so much that, I falling love with it and Army become very important element in my life, which has the highest level of priority in my life. I will never hesitate to sacrifices my life to protect and defend United States of America, Constitution and United State Army just like the one I do for my family and I will do everything in my power to serve in the way that best benefit Army interest. I Leads others in the Army with set myself as an example, armed myself with warrior ethos, live with the Army Values, and maintain my military bearing in the highest standard level.
It is my desire to attend the United States Naval Academy. My goal is to follow in my father 's footsteps as an officer in the naval branch of our armed forces. My father began his career as an enlisted seaman twenty years ago and is now serving as a Lieutenant. Being the son of a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, I have always had an interest in the military and a desire to also serve and follow his footsteps. It was not until high school when I decided that I wanted to attend the Naval Academy.
Essay of Intent I deserve to be part of the National Junior Honor Society for many reasons. To begin with I deserve to be in National Junior Honor Society because of my skills as a leader. Additionally, I have a very strong character, and able to work well in a team. Finally, I am willing to give back to the people in need and honoring my country. To wrap it all up, I deserve to be in National Junior Honor Society because of my strong character, my leadership skills, my strength in working in a team, my willingness to help people in need, and for honoring our country.
As I embark on the newest chapter in my life it occurs to me that I must first take time to fully process and appreciate the magnitude of what it really is to be a Warrant Officer in the United States Army. From my own perspective as well as the perspective seen from society I can see my new responsibilities will hold a paramount position in many different aspects. This being said, I can look forward to a major shift in what my focus will be and how my decisions will directly impact those around me. My personal desire to become a Warrant officer stems from my constant thirst to grow and influence my surroundings.
As I am getting ready to begin my college years, my experience in America is getting richer every day. I have realized how much opportunities I have being an American citizen and living in this part of the world compared to the life i lived in Togo and I intend to make the most of it. Warrant officers are the leaders of their field and experts in their trade. As such, they must be reliable, technically and tactically proficient, quick learners, and self-motivated, traits I already possess. I believe I have the necessary skills, experience, and leadership abilities to be a great asset to the Army as a Warrant Officer. I have more experience and training than most of my peers considering warrant officer as their next step. I have proven to be a dependable, capable, driven and a proactive non-commissioned officer throughout my career and have always sought out positions of higher responsibility.
Throughout my childhood and adolescent years, I always had a dream of joining the military. Though it was a choice, I still did not have any inside information of what it would be like, and the requirements and specifics of the Army. It wasn't until 2005 when I decided to join the United States Army that all my concerns and questions were answered by a recruit; and I was guided through the whole process to enter and prep for the Army. If it was not for the confidences and motivation of my recruiter back in 2005, I might have not made my leap and probably would not be in this uniform today. Becoming a member of the United States Army recruiting team means having a physical and mental toughness in order to perform efficiently.
