Atticus Finch is a a very strong hearted man with a happy family. Atticus is in Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird.Atticus Finch is the father of two children they live in the town of Maycomb County. One day Atticus has to represent a man named Tom Robinson in court and something big happens. Because of his integrity and kindness to everyone he should take a stand. The first reason it makes sense for Atticus to take a stand is his integrity. Atticus is protecting Tom outside the jail house from the people that want to hurt him.The passage states “You know what we want another man said. Get aside from the door Mr. Finch.You can turn around and go home again Walter, Atticus said pleasantly”(Lee 202). This shows that Atticus was going to protect Tom no matter what.Atticus didn’t want to brag about himself anytime to anyone.The passage states “I saw that One shot Finch! Atticus wheeled around and faced Miss. Maudie. They looked at one another without saying anything and Atticus got into the sheriff’s car”(Lee 128). People say just because Tom is black he is a liar. The passage states “The witnesses for the state with the exception of the sheriff of Maycomb County have presented themselves to you gentlemen to this court in the cynical confident that their testimony would not be doubted confident that you gentlemen would go along with them in the assumption-the evil assumption- that all Negroes lie that all Negroes are basically immoral beings that all Negro men are not to be trusted around our women an assumption one associates with mind of their caliber”(Lee 273).
