Audacity Jones, the main character or protagonist in this story is a young, clever and troubling girl. She is brave and is always looking for adventure in her life. Everyday is a new chapter leading away from her home.
Audacity is an eleven year old girl in an orphanage called Miss Mamie's School for Wayward Girls. She has big brown eyes that glimmer with melancholy when she gets in trouble with Miss Maisie. She wears a pair of black boots that go tap-tap-tap on the floor when she walks.Even though the shoes are two sizes two small she continues to wear them. Growing up before she was sent to Miss Maisie's her black shoes fit, and were buffed and polished by her mother and father. Father buffed the left, mom the right. In each of those shoes lie two gold coins.

Miss Maisie finds her to be completely wayward and too much of a hassle. To her friends at the school, she is a heroine and a leader. To a girl named Divinity, who is Miss Masies favorite, doesn’t really know who she is but she will do anything to get Audie in trouble or rub it in. To Juice, she is kind of a struggle because she doesn’t follow directions. She doesn’t think things through and literally cannot stay put. To Dorothy, she is an ally in the mission. A savior as well especially when Audie rescues Dorthy from a prison room, where she was tied up. She may seem like a struggle for everyone but in the end it’s all okay. She returns home.
Audacity Jones a clever, fun-loving, adventure seeking girl that loves and cares for all. Her brown eyes, extra small shoes, and sense of adventure is what makes Audacity, Audacity. She may at times seem like a struggle but it’s all for the better good. Everyday is a new chapter with a new adventure but it’s alright, it doesn’t bother Audacity. She will always find her way back
