Audrey Hepburn Audrey Hepburn was such an accomplished woman. She was an iconic award-winning actress, fashion model and humanitarian. Aside from that, Audrey was an optimist. She believed in a bright and beautiful future that we all could contribute to, which I deem extremely significant to her success. Audrey was an inspiring lady who continues to lead people to be confident and generous. What more could we ask from an ideal role model? With such wisdom must come quite a backstory. In 1939, when she was ten years old, World War II broke out. It was an unfortunate time to grow up, surrounded by cruelty and poverty. On top of the impending war, Audrey’s family was crumbling and falling away. Her mother was highly strict and distant as well as quarrels between her parents about supporting the Nazis and love affairs lead to her father leaving. She later called this the most traumatic moment in her life. So how could someone so young and innocent survive these hardships? Audrey was among the luckiest people during this time and she was strong and positive. She rebelled against the evil in her life, however she could. She assisted the rebellion by delivering messages and performing ballet shows in secret to raise money for their cause. Even when she suffered from malnutrition and respiratory problems, Audrey did her best to remain hopeful. She would stay in bed and read to take her mind off the pain and offered to read to others.
