That is, knowing what one values most in life, and not letting other people’s opinions get in one’s way of doing it.
What are some principles or beliefs that you are willing to die for? Most people would answer with something very meaningful and significant to them. The play “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller portraits how important principles may be. Hale, a character in the play, states that “No principle, however glorious is worth dying for”. His statement and opinion is wrong.
The world's first autobiographer and Roman poet, Quintus Horatius Flaccus (Horace), states, “life is largely a matter of expectation”. The idea that success comes from high expectations has been evident since 65 B.C., and is still a common argument in 2017. When Wes Moore is meeting with his incarcerated acquaintance, who is also named Wes Moore, the two are discussing where their life stories diverged. Both had similar upbringings, neither with a father figure, but with different support systems. The author Wes Moore, who was sent to military school as a teenager, is now a successful and highly regarded entrepreneur.

Empathy Belly Project I underwent several discomforts and sensations while doing the empathy belly project. One of which was restricted breathing caused by the tightness of the belly which wasn’t enjoyable. Also the baby’s “feet” were sticking into my ribs, creating irritation when I walked or moved around a lot. I felt more fatigue with the belly on than I normally do since I exerted more energy trying to do everyday things thanks to the extra weight and figure. While buttoning my jacket and tying my shoes, I felt a little annoyed because it was more difficult to do than I thought it would be since I couldn’t look over my stomach.

Humility may be the most difficult quality to learn and maintain. As a society we reward arrogance and “attitude”; and our heroes tend to be loud and brash sports figures, millionaire developers, movie stars, and the like-those kinds of people who don’t know, or don’t want to know what humility is (Marshall,
Carnegie argued, as humans, we are “creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudices and motivated by pride and vanity” (1981, p. 13). In our careers, or life in general, we must begin with praise and honest appreciation. Praising ones improvements can encourage them to do better, which in turn can make others happy about doing the thing you suggest, which are two principles of this section. For example, if someone in the workplace improves on their task, praising them of a job well done can encourage them to continue their efforts, and happier, more eager to finish a task if asked of them because they are in a much happier state of mind from your appraisal. People are driven from their pride and sense of importance.
A sense of accomplishment is invaluable to a person. Not only does a sense of accomplishment build confidence and faith in oneself, but it also allows one to reflect on how wonderful the journey to the accomplishment was, and how every little struggle and triumph was worth it. In the middle of summer, where time seems endless and the stress of the previous school year has been shed by students, I never expected to find out that I scored a five on both of the advanced placement exams I took. Nor did I have one-hundred percent confidence the goals we set as section leaders of the marching band would actually be met. Yet to my surprise, I had the good fortune of accomplishing challenging things in both aspects of my life.
Praise will reinforce positive characteristics and does not focus on limitations as it builds pride. In artice 1, it says “Self-worth is a function of living with dignity, which exists apart from any
