The Roman was very fond of their ancestors and wanted to preserve their image through a life like sculptor and art. One sculptor for example was the sculptor of Rome Emperor Augustus of Prima Porta. When Augustus passed away he was an old man but he wanted his people to remember him when he was younger still fighting battles. A lot of detail went into making the sculptor from his god like structure, facial expression, strong muscle structure, and his cousin cupid, the son Venus riding a dolphin right next to him.
