Automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) is a mass surveillance method that uses optical character recognition (OCR) to automatically identify the license number plate in an image or video. By providing the OCR with the correct search criteria you need to train it. To train the OCR means to get enough positive and negative images of the object you want to identify. The training involves in to an Extensible Markup Language (XML) that can be used to identify die object in the image.
