Tempo: (Describe the speed of the music, compare it to the other song.)
The tempo in the song Back in Your Own BackYard by Billie Holiday can be described as a moderate to medium speed. The song is not extremely slow or fast, it is just in the middle. This jazz song is fast enough for it to be upbeat, but slow enough to allow the vocals to take its time and have range. Compared to “Flying Home” by Ella Fitzgerald, this song is a lot slower and less fierce.

Her soulful voice gives me a sense of nostalgia to older styles of music and an old fashioned vibe. Not only is her vocals talented, there is also rawness to her voice since there was no autotune or editing back then. Her warm voice is very expressive too, it is almost like she is sharing a story when singing which is very intimate.
Accompaniment/Instruments:
(Do you hear a big band or small group/combo? What featured instruments do you hear?) The instruments used in this song are a piano, drums, guitar, bass, and a type of woodwind or brass instruments, like a trumpet or clarinet. It sounds more of a small group/combo than a big band.
