This jazz song is fast enough for it to be upbeat, but slow enough to allow the vocals to take its time and have range. Compared to “Flying Home” by Ella Fitzgerald, this song is a lot slower and less fierce.

The lyrics are very cheerful and positive. Its overall message is that one can find happiness in their daily lives, one being their own backyard, if we appreciate every little thing in life. Her soulful voice gives me a sense of nostalgia to older styles of music and an old fashioned vibe. Not only is her vocals talented, there is also rawness to her voice since there was no autotune or editing back then. Her warm voice is very expressive too, it is almost like she is sharing a story when singing which is very intimate.
