Peanut allergies are dangerous for kids all over the world, but schools still feed kids peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. “Peanut allergies are the body's overreaction to certain proteins found in peanuts. The immune system's response to these allergens is to trigger an antibody, which then triggers other chemicals. One of the scariest results of these chemicals is the chance for anaphylaxis, which is a potentially fatal condition in which sufferers have trouble breathing because of constricted airways, experience a sudden and drastic drop in blood pressure, have an increased pulse rate, and sometimes even pass out.” “Estimates say that in the United States, thousands of people visit the emergency room annually because of allergic reactions to food. Somewhere around 150 to 200 people die in the U.S. each year because of food allergies. But when their child is at school the parents have little ways of making sure their child is far away from peanuts. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America stated that “peanut allergy affects about 2 percent of the population, and is one of the most common causes of death due to food allergies.” Schools say they are “nut free” meaning there is no peanuts in any kid's lunchbox and peanuts are not found anywhere around the school and that's how all schools should be unless they want innocent kids dying every year because of what schools
