Barack Obama once said, “If we aren’t willing to pay a price for our values, if we aren’t willing to make sacrifices in order to realize them, then we should ask ourselves weather we truly believe in theme at all” Many people know Barack Obama as the first black U.S President but he is so much more. Barack Obama changed the world by becoming the first black U.S President, and his hardworking international efforts. He showed America that people can do anything no matter what background. Barack is named after his father, Barack Obama Jr. Barack means “One who is blessed” in Swahili(the fact file). Obama’s family is mixed racial, his mom was white and came from Kansas, his dad was black and from Kenya in Africa, they met in college at the University of Hawaii in Waikiki(Baidya). Barack lived in Indonesia for a few years before moving back to Hawaii and living with his grandparents(Baidya). As a child and throughout his teens, Obama loved playing basketball, golf, and tennis (the fact file). Even though Barack Obama was a intelligent former President, he did not make smart choices as a teen. He was not a straight A student, survived a rollover car crash with his friends, and tried marijuana and cocaine which luckily did not affect him later in life(InvestorPlace, Baidya). After Obama graduated from Columbia University he became a Community Organizer in Chicago 1985 (biography.com). Then in 1988 he became interested in politics and went to Harvard Law school and became the first African-American student to be President of “Harvard Law Review” (WorldBook,664).
