Barbara Walters is a widely known journalist for some of the most popular television shows in America such as ABC’s 20/20 and the Today Show. Walter’s was a graduate from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY where she received her bachelor’s degree in English. She started off her career by being a secretary moving on to radio. Slowly she worked her way into television and by the year of 1961 she began a career in broadcasting writing for CBS News. At that time Walters had been known as the youngest producer with NBC. Barbara Walters is a influential advocate of empowering women through her breakthroughs as a female in empowering other women, and donating her time to charities.

As of now, Barbara Walters is co-owner, co-host, and co-executive producer of the View. The View is a show where woman discuss daily issues and events, giving their opinions and conversation. They include hot topics in the news, celebrity interviews, and general entertainment. Barbara has been married three times and adopted a baby girl. “For all that she has been through, Barbara Walters is a true pioneer among women, breaking the glass ceiling in the world of TV journalism.” Walters is very inspirational individual because she was the first women to be named to be a co-anchor in which she more or less “paved the way” for other female journalists who had the same passion as she did.
