What is a hero? Being able to exceed society's expectations of an average human’s intellect, strength and bravery can classify you in a category of a hero. Whether it be one or all of these things, heroes are everywhere. Heroism is courage, passion and, selflessness.
Batman is a perfect example of someone possessing courage. The definition of courage is the ability to do something that frightens others. At a young age, he had to watch his parents get killed right in front of him. He then continued to try and avenge his deceased mom and dad by purging his home city of Gotham of men and women with malice. Courage is also portrayed by this quote from Nelson Mandela: “I learned that courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”

Passion is a strong feeling of excitement towards doing something. In this case, it saving citizens of China. A character who reflects passion is Mulan. She managed to take her father's place in the army, even though women were not allowed to fight. She felt destined to honor her family after she fails the test to determine if she could marry. Mulan defeats the Huns and saved China, proving everyone wrong. A quote said by Zig Ziglar represents passion well: “When you catch a glimpse of your potential, that’s when passion is born.”
One last important quality that should be within a hero is selflessness. Being selfless is the act of putting others before yourself no matter what. Baymax from the movie Big Hero 6 is a great example of a character having selflessness. He is a character who has healing abilities and helps other before himself. Towards the end of the movie, Baymax sacrifices himself to save the main character, Hiro, from death. Hiro survives, after saying goodbye to Baymax. “I cannot deactivate until you say you are satisfied with your care,” was said by Baymax
