Did you know about the Battle of Trenton? According to landofthebrave The Battle of Trenton was on Thursday, December 26, 1776 in Trenton, New Jersey. With an army of General George Washington, and his leaders Nathanael Greene and John Stark, and his soldiers. The Battle of Trenton 1776 has many causes, leaders, events, and causes. According to Landofthebrave Washington’s army had 2,400 soldiers. While the British had 1,520 soldiers. On the American side we had two main leaders and a general. General George Washington, and his two leaders Nathanael Greene and John Stark. The British leader was John Rall. Because it was Christmas night the Hessians were drinking, so they were drunk, and when the Americans got there December 26th it was hard for them to battle, so they were at a disadvantage here. After the war 2 American soldiers were killed, 5 were wounded, and none were captured. On the other side the Hessians lost 22 men,86 were wounded, and 906 were captured. So that means only 506 weren't hurt, killed, or captured. So with this according to Kennedy Hickman a military expert on about says, Winning the Battle of Trenton gave great confidence to Washington's army and the Continental army. The great victory of The Battle of Trenton strengthened the public's hope. Kennedy Hickman also said Howe was shocked by the American victory, so he commanded Cornwallis to move forward to Washington. This time with 8,000 soldiers.
