This means that if one individual were to interact with anyone, then specific atoms would react in certain ways based off of the sensory input caused by experiencing another individual. If this were not the case, there would most likely be two reasons why. Premise C says that an individual would experience another individual the same way based off of atomic structures, but if it were not the case it would most likely be because people have theories of chemicals and atoms wrong, or because there is something more to a person than just being purely physical. Legally, neither “Becky” could be charged for a crime. One might bring up an objection saying they still can be charged with conspiracy, but that implies that two different people did the crime. So, if “Becky” was charged with conspiracy, then Becky would be two identities, containing the same physical make up. However, physicalism assumes they both would have the same identity. To drive this point even more, these “Becky” should not be under the law at all! According to the Cornell School of Law, these “Beckys” would not even be people at all. The law says, “In determining the meaning of any Act of Congress, or of any ruling, regulation, or interpretation of the various administrative bureaus and agencies of the United States, the words “person”, “human being”, “child”, and “individual”, shall include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development”(law. cornell.edu). As we know, Becky was assembled by the scientist, therefore was given life through that moment; however, the law says that to be born alive humans must, “means the complete expulsion or extraction from his or her mother of that member, at any stage of development, who after such expulsion or extraction breathes or has a beating heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles, regardless of whether the umbilical cord has been cut, and regardless of whether the expulsion or extraction occurs as a result of natural or induced labor, cesarean section, or induced abortion” (law.cornell.edu). The “Beckys”, therefore is are not people legally. So, the “Beckys” are not part of the law, and could do anything she wanted
