1. From the twin studies, they tell us that both environmental factors and genetics play a big role in growing up. Both of the twins showed similar and different traits. The twins both had mustaches, wore glasses, liked spicy foods, similar temperament, voices, leadership skills, and bad nervous habits. Those traits were most likely assumed to be genetic. However they both had different views on political issues, morals, privacy, and comfort. Those traits were strongly impacted by the environment. I think heredity does influence your personality and intellectual development. For example, some people are able to grasp concepts easier and faster compared to others and that has to deal with your intellectual development. Heredity does also influence personality and an example is that I inherit my serious, hard-working, over-worrying attitude from my mother. We are both very similar in that aspect. 2. The agents of socialization are the people who shape the way we act and our personality. Those people could be our parents, friends, classmates, professors, idols, etc. I think school has done a great part in educating us about society’s principles and has provided every student an opportunity to succeed. No matter what gender you are there is an opportunity to succeed, however; I do see a flaw in the system. Students that come from a wealthy family have an advantage for graduate schools or PhD programs because they have a higher chance of getting in since those master and PhD programs are very pricey. Students that come from a poor family have to work harder or may never get the chance to get in. I think technology has enhanced the socialization process because now we are more exposed to what other people think and feel. We can see how they relate and how different they are from us.
