12-year old Ben Robinson is living in beautiful Naples, Florida. It is a beautiful, humid Friday afternoon and he is walking home from school, not a care in his mind. He was excited for the upcoming weekend. Until the sky shifted from a bright blue to a dull, dark gray. The rain started to fall from the dreary sky. By the time he had gotten home, the rain was falling to the ground in heavy sheets. The wind sounded like a thousand huge fighter jets right above him. Ben began to grow fearful. Then, disaster struck.

That point was only two hours away from Naples. Ben was panicking even more now, and his parents were still sleeping! Ben went upstairs to wake his parents up, and he went into their room and found them praying. “What do we do?” Ben tried to think. His dad was an expert on storms and Ben was relying on him to get them through this. “We must come up with a plan!” his father exclaimed “And quickly!” Ben put in. The water threw him under and thrashed him around and he fought tirelessly to return to the surface and get air. Luckily, he clutched onto a fire hydrant and was able to pull himself to it with the last of his strength. Then, Ben looked up and saw a house breaking off and beginning to float down the stream of brown, icy water. “Maybe this is good,” Ben thought to himself, “I can grab onto the house when it passes.” Ben shook himself out of it. “What am I thinking!” Ben exclaimed, “all that water must be getting to my head.” He realized that maybe it wasn’t the worst idea.
