Introduction:

The term forensic science involves forensic, which means a public discussion or debate. In a more modern context, however, forensic applies to courts or the judicial system. Combine that with science, and forensic science means applying scientific methods and processes to solving crimes. For centuries, the development of forensic science has been used to unravel mysteries, solve crimes, convict or exempt criminal suspects. In this essay, I am going to discuss the merits of forensic sciences in modern criminal investigation and discuss the future of it.

The merits of forensic sciences in modern criminal investigation:

Forensic science is the application of science to criminal and civil laws, mainly on the criminal side during the criminal investigation, as governed by the legal standards of admissible evidence and criminal procedure.
Forensic scientists collect, save, and analysis scientific evidence during the investigation. While some forensic scientists travel to the scene of the crime to collect the evidence themselves, others occupy a laboratory role, performing analysis on objects brought to them by other individuals. In addition to their laboratory role, forensic scientists testify as expert witnesses in both criminal and civil cases and can work for either the prosecution or the defense. While any field could technically be forensic, certain sections have developed over time to encompass most of forensically related cases.
