Another form used to further persuade about the positiveness of IT, is how, despite its few disadvantages, mobile devices have improved and become of the most useful devices available. Over the years information technology has improved to their point where people can no longer live their life without it, relying on their phones for the time, reminders, to do lists, and to contact people. In the workforce, technology has improved and negatively affected how we live. A negative

With facebook becoming so big it makes it easier for everyone to talk through that. Even if you don’t have facebook most social media sites offer ways of conversation with other people. The internet is becoming easier and easier for anyone to get access to with all of the places that offer free Wi-Fi, which is why it is no surprise that we have become dependent on the internet and all of its services. If you want to meet someone now you usually meet them online.
There are many different views on whether technology is beneficial or not. In No Need to Call, by Sherry Turkle, Turkle argues that technology is not beneficial because it affects social interaction in a negative way. In Google Making Us Stupid? by Nicholas Carr, Carr claims that the internet is non beneficial because it has become a distraction and is making humans avoid the traditional sense of reading and writing. In Better than Human: Why Robots Will-and Must-Take Our Jobs by Kevin Kelly, Kelly believes that technology is beneficial thing because by allowing robots to take our jobs, it allows humans to be more creative. Clive Thompson’s essay Smarter than You Think: How Technology Is Changing Our Minds for the Better states that technology
In the article, Tarshis makes the claim that technology is extremely beneficial to our society in terms of communication. In the text, it states, “Communication can make friendships stronger. ‘There’s definitely a positive impact. Kids can stay in instant contact, which means they can share more of their feelings with each other.’” (Tarshis. 7)
We do not have waste time on a lot of reading. We can directly chat with friends in different regions on social media instead of using few weeks to mail a letter. People have gotten used to living with technology every day. From ordering food, shopping, searching for information and texting people online… All of these activities have proven that people depend
Smartphones, tablets, computers and numerous other forms of technology dominate the modern society in various parts the world. The widespread presence of technology has had an enormous effect on life in this contemporary age. While technology may raise questions about the negative effects it has on social and familial interactions, its benefits far outweigh these few negatives. The effect of technology has been positive on the world as it has resulted in strengthened ties with local communities, created a more balanced society and opened up opportunities that would have otherwise been unavailable without the presence of technology.
Snapchat: The Latest Teen Pleasure or Parent’s Worst Nightmare Technology has made great advances in the past few years on a global scale. Works of fiction and informational text have addressed the numerous influences of modern innovation. Technological advances can have great benefits and many drawbacks to society. In Ray Bradbury’s short story “The Veldt”, the Happylife House makes life easier in a number of ways.
Technology takes away the stress of getting to someone’s house to give them the information. In the article, “Meet Your IBrain: How Technology Changing the Way We Think”, state that, “we develop a better ability to sift through large amounts of information rapidly and decide what’s important and what isn’t- our mental filters basically learn how to shift into overdrive” (146). They believe with the help of technology we are able to receive information within a short amount of time. You may not appreciate technology and how it has made getting information out easy unless you has lived your childhood life in a village, where you have to walk for 30 minutes just to pass around information. It was very hard getting information passed around back in the days.
The methods of communication have changed over time. Society has gone from writing letters to email. From there communication went to IM or text messaging. Technology continued to evolve and communication continued to advance. FaceTime or Skype allows us to communicate no matter the distance.
By definition, computer-mediated communication (CMC) is communication about or by means of computer technology (Thurlow, Lengel, & Tomic, 2004). The transition of computers from highly specialized technology to personal possessions contributed to the increase in investigations relating to CMC (Thurlow, Lengel, & Tomic, 2004). The study of CMC has been widely applied, allowing for discussions of all forms of human communication via the means of a computer. Some of those disciplines through which CMC has been studied include psychology (Gackenbach & Ellerman, 1998; Kiesler, Siegel, & McGuire, 1984), politics (Dahlberg, 2001; Hacker & van Dijk, 2000), and education (Berge & Collins, 1995; McComb, 1994). In addition, CMC has also been widely studied
More importantly, it has the ability to bring people at par with one another providing them a common advantage, irrespective of their locations, social and cultural backgrounds. It has reduced the distances and brought world closer. It has broadened the outlook of people by enabling them to gain an understanding of other cultures, meet people from different geographies on earth, maintain and strengthen family relationships, communicate effectively with others. When people today mostly work away from home, technology keeps them connected to their family. Users can find anything being promoted, discussed, or tagged on the Internet, whether it is consumer products, scientific ideas, youthful infatuations, or terrorist agendas (Wellman and Gulia, 1999).
Not only that, technology has shaped social interaction as a whole. Being able to talk to anyone on the Earth is an important milestone and “One of the areas where computers have had the most impact on our lives is how we relate to and communicate with other people” (Stewart). In a world filled with Skype, social media, and email, no longer do people have to leave their house in order to communicate. In fact, according to a study led by John Cacioppo of the University of Chicago 's Department of Psychology, roughly one-third of romantic relations start by meeting online. This goes to show how huge of an impact technology has had on communication.

However, technology has made a significant impact on the way we communicate and new communication technologies are continuously improving and being used in everyday life. It has become an essential part of most our lives because we, as a human species, have always had this deep desire to communicate, and to communicate over distance. The obstruction of connecting two regions has drastically decreased due to the fact that we now have mobile phones, Internet, and social media to make life easier.
