Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston in 1706. In 1723 he moved to Philadelphia where he was a publisher of The Pennsylvania Gazette, which was most famous for its Poor Richard’s Almanac. He had a wife, Deborah Read, and two children, one boy one girl. This however did not prevent him from having many other children with nameless mistresses out-of-wedlock. He was also a renowned drunk. Politically speaking, however, he was an important name. He represented Pennsylvania in the Albany Congress during the French and Indian War, as well as postmaster general to the colonies.
