The Civil War. Louis P. Masur’s book, The civil War: a Concise History, Is a book that gives an overview of the civil war from 18 to 1800, Providing multiple causes an consequences that emerged from the war. The book begins by reviewing the origins of the war. Chapter one covers the issues between northern and southern states and the tension over right and slave possession. The tension created a conflict that raised a number of political, social, and military events that then proceeded into a battle to abolish slavery from the colonies.
In eighteen sixty there was a girl named Bailey Parker. She loved to write. One day panic rose the revolutionary war has begun. Although it was far away. Bailey imagined what it would be like to report for the revolutionary war.
The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad played a significant role in the Civil War. It contributed to the victory of the North, and the end of slavery. This is important because it provided freedom to the African Americans. If the south would have won, it would have changed history dramatically. As Donald McCraig once said, "The Civil War has a tremendous moral and emotional force" (Wise Old Sayings 1).
A soldier by the name of Joseph Plumb Martin used his experience during the Revolutionary War to inform the public about the hardships of a common soldier. He did this by giving one of the most accurate accounts of the campaigns in the Revolutionary army. Martin’s story began in the Northeast, specifically in New York. He dealt with starvation, fatigue, and lack of clothes. Martin overcame these obstacles and returned to the army after his first term of service expired.

Moses Reed (Ross) was punished today for deserting us. We are stopped because of Sergeant Floyd 's illness. He told a few of us a plan but we never believe he would actually do it. It was only after one of the men told me Reed had left his knife at our last camp destination fhat I really became suspicious. Apparently Reed went to Captain Lewis and Lewis sent Lay liberty, a Frenchman, to go with him.
Bobby L. Lovett writing for the Journal of Negro History gives an account of African -Americans in the Civil War, in his article the “The Negros Civil War 1861-1865”. Lovett opens his article by explaining how Tennessee officially seceded on June 8 1861, and how eight months later taken the state was over by the Union Army. In the first part of his article, Lovett gives us some background information about how the Confederacy and the state of Tennessee planned on using the “quasifree” African-Americans. Lovett goes on to explain how some free blacks of the city of Nashville sided with the Confederacy along with the captured slaves, and servants. Although some fought for the Confederacy, most fled to the Union line to enlist in the Union Army
Many tragedies and battles were encountered during the civil war, and each event brought value to the nation's future. Just as with any battle, Fredericksburg left a damaging and valuable impact on the Civil War. It left many Americans devastated by the many lives that were lost during the combat. Fredericksburg was part of the turning point of the civil war. Both the Union and the Confederates were affected either negatively or positively on the outcome of the battle's results.
Fort Sumter The battle of Fort Sumter was the first major battle of the American Civil War. The battle lasted for April 12th to April 13th. Roughly 80 Union soldiers and roughly 500 Confederate soldiers were involved in the altercation. On April 12th Andersen had promised to surrender on April 15th but soon learned that that was not soon enough.

In battle, there are many ways to be put in the wrong position. A few erratic decisions can cause lifelong problems. In “The Red Badge of Courage” Stephan Crane shows the many situations in battle during the Civil War in 1860. Henry Fleming, also known as “The Youth,” made many notable decisions that would consider him a coward rather than a hero. Henry demonstrates a coward because he ran during the battle, deserted the tattered soldier, and lied to the other soldiers.
During the American Revolution War, Private Joseph Plumb Martin criticized the lack of sufficient materials needed for a standard soldiers daily living. Based on Martin’s experience throughout his participation in the conflict, his perspective regarding to inadequate supplies and respects to the Continental army was correct due to poor leadership, dangerous army conditions of living and different perspectives implication on the public opinion. During the Delaware Campaign of 1777, Martin described how the Continental Army soldiers were treated by their superiors. When Martin and his allies successfully defend the nearby cities from British warships, their efforts were not properly recognized by their commanders.
In 1608 Captain John Smith traveled through an unfamiliar area and came across the Patapsco River, which is known as the Middle Branch. Captain John Smith considered this area to be good farmland. July 29,1729, Baltimore Town was named after the exclusive legislative leader Lord Baltimore, along with other ports near the Chesapeake Bay. In 1730, the town Fell’s Point was founded and became a major port and shipbuilding center in Baltimore. The British initially settled in Baltimore, which was the second-biggest port of passage for workers.
