An Epic is a long narrative poem. The Epic “Beowulf” by an unknown author is about a legendary hero, who was an Epic Hero from noble birth. Beowulf is a great Hero, he was larger than life and he is a well known Hero. Beowulf is successful in battle by defeating a lot of monsters in different settings, and he was willing to sacrifice his life for others.
Epic Heroes are larger than life, Beowulf is presented in the narrative poem as an epic hero from noble birth with elevated language. In the Epic, “Beowulf” is known as a hero for being larger than life. For Example, Beowulf is larger than life and legendary when he is described as “Greater and stronger than anyone anywhere in this world” (110). He has proven to be stronger than anyone anywhere and has superhuman abilities that make him larger than life. Another example in the Epic “Beowulf” that proves he is larger than life is when he was described “Nor have I ever seen, out of all men on earth, one greater” (161-163). …show more content…

Beowulf was really successful in battle, one of the main reasons people knew he was successful was because Beowulf said “as a youth I fought endless battles” (622). For example, Beowulf fought many battles where he was successful. One that stood out the most to me was his battle against Grendel. Grendel was a demon who did not value human and life, Grendel tried his best against the epic Beowulf but could not keep up with him Beowulf ripped Grendel's arm off, making him bleed out and run away. Beowulf's victories show how incredible he was in
