In “The Bernie Bomb” by Kimberley Strassel, critical, mocking tones emphasize Strassel’s feelings towards Bernie Sanders’ inability to become the President of the United States. Bernie Sanders gave quite a performance at the first Democratic debate of the year. Strassel shares her thoughts on the nature of his responses to important issues during the debate by concluding that his followers should regret making donations to his campaign seeing that he really is not in it to win. Her witty critiques indicate her strong feelings that donating to Sanders’ campaign in hopes that he will become President, is truly not worth the money. Strassel’s diction heightens the uncertainty and unprofessional manner behind Sanders’ attempt at trying to be elected as President, which leads his supporters to doubt their contribution to his campaign.

Free College Tuition From Bernie Sanders Bernie Sanders believes that college tuition isn’t in the interest for our country’s future. Bernie Sanders states “It is insane and counter-productive to the best interests of our country and our future, that hundreds of thousands of bright young people cannot afford to go to college” (Bernie). Bernie Sanders’ point is that many of the talented people in our society may not be able to pursue their dreams or pursue their desired job because they and their parents can’t afford college. If Bernie Sanders is right that many Americans can’t afford to go to college, as I think they are, then we need to reassess the popular belief that FAFSA and other scholarships will considerably lower the price for college.
Jonathan Edwards version of God was very aggressive and unforgiving. Insult after continuing insult, this does not seem like the Jesus Christ with the wonderful forgiving spirit. Primarily, the memorandum assumes that by building a subway system, the majority of motorists will start taking subways while travelling. The argument has also mentioned vague points regarding increase in worker productivity and flourishment of economy that needs further assessment. One of the major assumption of the argument is in assuming that motorists will start taking subways while going to work. Subway system will work as an alternative and would not be preferred by the entire working class.

In my initial oral exam I combined both Glenn Beck and his co anchor's argument into one to better fit argument and doing so made it easier to form a structured idea of the fallacies involved using Toulmin’s model but also made identifying specifically Glenn’s fallacies difficult. Though it can be assumed that he agrees with the statements and analogies his co anchor was making as he used it as a jumping off point for his own final argument. Parts of the co-anchor's articulation are present in Glenn’s argument but in the exam I didn’t identify only Glenn’s ideas in the model. Specifically the grounds, warrant and backing were weakened as they were more closely related to his co anchor’s arguments than this own. Audrey, I truly appreciated Congressman McEwen’s analogy and the PIE formula. The evidence provided in the presentations were constructive and provided tools to sharpen critical thinking skills which translate into debating and arguing persuasively. Christians and real Jews are held to higher standards than liberals. Due to original sin, it is challenging for humans to maintain integrity and character; however, it should be a goal to strive to do our best, since our behavior is being scrutinized constantly. Conservatives do respect the unalienable rights of all Americans and extend the philosophy of Compassionate Conservatism to the disenfranchised and the invisible majority (Bush, 2002).
