In her "Bowie State University Commencement Speech" Michelle Obama encourages students to aggressively pursue their own education because of its extreme value. In her speech, Obama reminded the students of the many challenges and obstacles African Americans had to pass through in their battle to obtain an education. The battle which offered them a better life, and also the opportunity to new generations to obtain a high-level education. A reminder that Michelle Obama gives for the sole purpose of making a so-called of awareness to those young people who no longer strive to obtain a higher education; even though they have the education opportunity that is widely available to everyone. There were very few schools and some of those were far away and for that reason students had to walk for long distances; in order to get to the closest school available. Most of the schools that existed were in really poor conditions.What Obama really implies is the fact that an education is possible even if it is given in a small poor location with scarce resources to work with, the ending is fruitful. Many students and teachers in different parts of the world face the lack of appropriate schools and also the lack of education materials.However they continued fighting for their education.For example, In my childhood I had to pass through same obstacles. In order to attend middle school, I had to walk for long distances despite the bad weather. Days of heavy rain where I had to choose between covering my books, or myself with the only sweater that I had. The answer was obvious I needed to save what was the most important for me at the moment which were my books; since they meant my future. In others words, they meant the courage and knowledge that I needed to succeed in any circumstances in my life, and as Michelle Obama puts in her own words, because " Education means nothing less than freedom"(289 page). Obama is surely right because education is the key that unlocks all doors, the door of economic, personal satisfaction, knowledge, and moreover being an example to follow for our friends and
