The author, Ismail Einashe, influences the reader to believe the ban is cruel and appeals to the readers’ emotions in the article, “For Dual Nationals, Trump’s Muslim Ban Is a Curse”. The statement, “The Trump ban has unfairly targeted people like me”, is a liberal bias because it makes you feel and believe the information before the writer states the evidence or support. Goodman builds an argument to persuade his audience that news organizations should increase the amount of professional foreign news coverage by giving solutions to the problem he claims that news stations currently has. Goodman states that news agencies do not report nor have reporting about foreign news. Goodman than uses problem and solution to explain his points and to solve his points. He also uses the device appeal to logos to explain his points. And lastly, Goodman compares studies to support his views on this crisis.
The media permeates our lives, as we get so much of our information about current and past events from it. The documentary Our People Will Be Healed by Alanis Obomsawin shows why the media needs to take a larger role in creating an equitable democracy for everyone. This film shows the importance of educating the youth in school about why their heritage matters to ensure that they feel that they are important to democracy in the future. It also shows why the work of the underrepresented must be highlighted. If the minority is making progress, rather than sitting in one dark place as the media makes it seem, then telling the story of those who are making change can inspire others to do the same and will allow for their voices to be heard.

Nor did I have one-hundred percent confidence the goals we set as section leaders of the marching band would actually be met.
