As the religion grew, Christianity became one of the most prominent religions in the Roman Empire.
During a time period that was present around 400 years ago, many colonists sought religious and economic freedom and decided to break away from the British government to form an independent nation. This area they inhabited is now called, the United States. In this time of great change, the colonists had to completely formulate a new government. Since one of the major motives for breaking off of Britain was for freedom of religion, it ended up becoming a good base for the building up of a new government. Religion gave many advantages to the growth of government through unifying the people, establishing power, and constructing order.
Christianity is a very important religion that is practiced by almost a third of the world’s population today. So why was this religion able to grow so much during ancient times? Inspired by Jesus Christ over two thousand years ago, Christianity faced several barriers along its road to prevalence in the world. During his lifetime, Jesus preached the Word of God until Roman officials felt threatened and eventually crucified him. After his death, however, Jesus’ apostles kept up his legacy and continued to preach God’s Word.

Jesus Christ inspired Christianity. Christianity was created by Paul. Poor people were turning to Christian because it is a religion that is open to anyone, even the poor.
Leviticus 25:35-37 states, "if your brother becomes poor and cannot maintain himself with you, you shall support him as though he were a stranger and a sojourner, and he shall live with you. Take no interest from him or profit but fear your God, that your brother may live beside you. You shall not lend him your money at interest, nor give him your food for profit". This verse shows, that when something happens to your family member or friend where they can't support themselves anymore, you have to do what you can to help them without expecting anything back from them or any benefit in return. Christians try their best to live by these types of quotes in the bible.
There was a time when people did the right thing, i.e., they prayed to God for their needs and trusted to his mercy and grace for the future. The Bible commends this, “...but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (Philippians 4:6), and, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” (Ephesians 6:18), and, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19) The spirit of foolishness has led many to abandon God, and to rely on man’s efforts for their welfare and wellbeing, as if the past have taught them nothing.
It clearly outlines our obligation to care for the poor in general. Biblically, God says, in Deuteronomy 15:11, “11 There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.” The beauty of this Scripture teaches us through experience that caring for the poor is a moral assessment of whether our faith is biblical and unpretentious. Caring for the poor is an ethical responsibility for which we will all be held accountable - if we do not seek to help the poor as we have been commanded by God.

Brave New World is a work of literature portraying a dystopian world. In this society, people are never sad or unsatisfied. In order to maintain stability, there are things that are abolished and kept away from society to keep everything running smoothly. One of these things is religion because it is seen as unnecessary and creates complications. On the other hand, the economy is widely worshiped and consumerism is a major key.
Beginning in Job, it is evident that poverty can indeed fall turmoil on anyone (Job 19: 7-29). The reasons for poverty cannot necessarily be faulted on the poor. Following in the Psalms, the overarching idea is that God delivers all and that we should love each other in the midst (Ps. 35:1-; 82). In this, it is expected that all individuals, especially the most power who can take advantage of vulnerabilities, to practice love and justice.
Both modernism and postmodernism worldviews approach ideas from a different perspective than the Christian worldview. The divisive central point is the reason for existence. Modernism and postmodernism are humanistic in structure. The Christian worldview is based on God. Knowledge base within modernism and postmodernism relies on the human based creation, while Christian worldview rests on the teachings of the Bible.
I was raised as a Christian and embraced the faith for many years. During this time, I read the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, rejecting all other religions as bogus, believing that Christianity was the only true pathway to God and salvation. It was while studying at the University of the West Indies that I began to question the rationality of my beliefs. The churches that I had attended were Anglican and Missionary, and the doctrines of many other denominations were alien to me. So I invited Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons into my home and engaged them in conversations regarding their beliefs, as well as entertaining dialogue with Roman Catholics, Seventh-day Adventists, Pentecostals and others.

As the organist began playing, I stared at the large golden cross that hung above the altar, its metallic sheen contrasting with the deep green marble. I was baptized as a Catholic, attended a Catholic elementary school and high school, and attended church every Sunday with my family. I made my first reconciliation and received a small silver cross necklace with a tiny peridot in the center.

As Christians, biblical counseling helps us apply both the greatest (and the second which is like it) commands as spoken by Jesus in Matthew 22:36-40. Biblical counseling is also a mechanism to which each of us can fulfill the great commission as spoken by Jesus in Matthew 28: 19-20. As such, biblical counseling not only fits within the ministry of the local church, one could argue that it is the ministry of the local church!
