we have recently read two passages, both about tragedies that America has faced. The two speakers that present themselves are Bill Clinton and Robert F Kennedy, they both came out to talk about a recent event that has happened. Each one of them go in depth by using ethos, pathos, and logos. With that they create a bond With the audience so that they feel like they're not alone.
To start off, the bombing of the Oklahoma federal building was a tragic event, but Bill Clinton suggests that we shouldn't be filled with hatred instead we should get over and it and work on healing and building ourselves back up. With this also causes some people to get their mind what just happened.“My fellow Americans, a tree takes a long time to grow, and wounds take a long time to heal. But we must begin. Those who are lost now belong to God. Someday we will be with them. But until that happens, their legacy must be our lives.”We have taken a hard hit, but the injury will heal and with all those that we lose the will not be in vain, thats our job now to live for them. Robert uses logos to let the people know what will happen if they continue their path of rage and the consequences they will face later in this war. With all that hate there is always a downside, but with love there is only benefits no harsh detriment. Evidence Kennedy states that “ What we need in the United States is not division; what we need in the United States is not hatred; what we need in the United States is not violence or lawlessness, but love and wisdom, and compassion toward one another, and a feeling of justice towards those who still suffer within our country, whether they be white or they be black.”.
