Growing up in a culturally diverse city in Nashville, I have gained cultural competency from my interactions with people from a plethora of ethnic backgrounds. Lastly, I am a highly ambitious person who always looks to broaden his horizons. Thus, I’m returning to school for the upcoming fall semester to take upper-division biology courses. I plan to take anatomy and physiology I and II, physiology, and research if the opportunity is available. These classes will better prepare me for medical school by helping me establish a solid foundation in the anatomical sciences.
Ever since high school, I knew I wanted to work in the pathology field. I thought I wanted to be a pathologist. I talked to the career counselors at my school and expressed my interest. Fortunately for me, I was contacted not much after about an internship at Montefiore Medical Center. I would come to learn that Montefiore Medical Center is the teaching hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Andi Wallick Personal Statement Indiana University School of Medicine Degree Objective: M.S. Pathologists’ Assistant My interest in pathology dates back to high school. I enjoyed most sciences but especially sciences about the body. I knew then that I wanted to work in the field of pathology.
I believe I should be accepted into to the University of North Dakota School Of Medicine because of my commitment to practicing primary rural care in the Midwest, my experience working with the underserved populations of my community, and my desire to advance medicine through research. Growing up in a small rural community, I was fortunate to have the same primary care physician. However, recently our town has experienced difficulty in hiring and retaining physicians. My enjoyment of my rural community inspires me to someday become a physician in this type of community. My commitment to serving the underserved population of my community is demonstrated through volunteering for 5 years at a clinic for the uninsured.

Having all these traits will help you slide through life easier with a purpose, code, having the foundation for success and mostly importantly, it will make your life fulfilling with all your dreams and goals achieved. It will shape you as an individual, your family, society, nation and the world. A cube seen from only one side is a square. I have spent twelve years of my life in the same institution and had a small but well-loved group of friends. In contrast, a close friend of mine attended three different schools in the same time, and I saw how that affected him, he was more social, friendly and empathetic. Looking back I now realize that I need to learn how to be more outgoing to better my communication skills as life presents us new challenges and working well with others is an integral part to solving them. I came to the United States to both see the world from another perspective and reflect upon the different ideologies and thought processes that have developed in the presence of such a great number of differing cultures.
I want to be a physician because I want people to grow old. At the age of 6, one of my closest friends was diagnosed with leukemia. By age 8, the disease claimed his life, robbing him of the opportunity to experience the privilege of growing old. Unfortunately, we live in a society of vanity. We see the process of aging and choose not to embrace it.
I will soon hold a Bachelor degree in Communication Disorders and my studies have taught me how to communicate with individuals from all backgrounds, professions, and social classes. It taught me sympathy and understanding of human interaction. My long term goal is to work with school aged children and young adults as a speech-language pathologist. I have experience in interacting favorably and effectively with children of a wide range and enjoy doing so. I belong in an educational environment and would like to continue on to the school system and contribute to the success of school aged children and young adults.
There are two engineering careers that interest me, biomedical or civil engineering. I know they may seem completely different, but due to the fact I take some classes in the engineering field, and some in the medical field, I still have not decided which way to go. A biomedical engineer creates equipment, devices, computer systems, and software used in healthcare, while a civil engineer designs, builds and supervises construction projects such as bridges, buildings, airports, and many more. A biomedical engineer focuses a lot on bringing knowledge to create, design and evaluate biomedical equipment.
I enjoy engineering, in fact when I get older I want to become a biomedical engineer. I want to be able to help people. As well as find solutions to help people in their everyday lives. So that hopefully it would make life easier and less stressful for them. I enjoy all the problem solving that comes with engineering.
I have a heart for service and a strong desire to make a difference in people’s lives. Becoming a nurse I will be able to fulfill my passion of making a positive impact on individual lives on a daily basis. I will be able to fulfill my nurturing and caring desires of helping others. I’m very passionate and fascinated with the medical field in all aspects. I strive for excellence, integrity and love interacting with all diversity of people.
As a dreamer and queer woman of color, pursuing a career in STEM has been quite challenging. But I have never let anything get in the way of reaching my goals and dreams. I have swam against the current in order to be where I am today, where I have dreamt of being. I am currently a second year student at Trinity Washington University majoring in biochemistry and minoring in mathematics. I am a dedicated student and an analytical and skilled critical thinker who is eager to learn.
I have always been fascinated with the natural world. Many of my youthful hours were spent catching fish, turtles, insects, etc. I had a collection of jars, boxes, and a kiddie pool to keep my catches for a while for observation. When I was nine, I caught some enlarged goldfish which intrigued me. I learned that these fish were abandoned ex-pets.
PERSONAL STATEMENT (NURFATIN BT MOHD SHAH) I want to further my study in this course because it is thrilling and rapidly- moving subject area, that is highly pertinent to the problem facing by society today. As far as I concern, cardiovascular disease is one of the popular cause of death. I am keen to learn more and involve in the latest advances in cardiovascular research. Over the years of studying, my interest in this area has increased.
My life experiences have helped me to work towards my career. My desire to become a biochemist grew in me when I was young. Back then a cousin of mine was living with my family. My cousin was a very nice person to me,we always play together,watch movies,go on adventure and do many other things together,I grew up to be fond of my cousin. My cousin had a sickle cell anaemia disease since he was young,he was placed on several medications which include antibiotics,pain relieving medication and hydroxyurea which were aimed at suppressing the disease and sustaining his life.
