In the United States, the Federal Government assumes the responsibility for leading the efforts that seek to manage the risk level of the terrorist threat. That is why the Federal Government has created the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), whose main mission is to prevent terrorist threats by managing their risk levels (DHS, 2014). Since the terrorist threat is a very complex threat to manage for one entity or agency alone, the DHS is able to accomplish its main mission by working in partnerships with many federal agencies; State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLLTT) Governments; private and public organizations; international partners; and communities all across the United States (DHS, 2014). The primary mission of intelligence agencies is to collected information outside and inside the borders of the United States, by using people and technology. Intelligence is used to protect the community and the citizens from a horrific incident.
Not every policy and strategy enacted can be a success, as a country we would never learn or find ways to improve if there were no failures. Since the inception of the Department of Homeland Security, many policies and strategies have been proposed and implemented, some being successful and some needing a revision or another policy enacted to change the failure to potential success. Here we will look at two policies, the USA PATRIOT Act and the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2022. While these are reactions to events that have occurred, as many policies proposed or implemented, were reactions to events that had occurred. They are also future prevention strategies to help efforts to keep the homeland safe and secure.
One tactic all law enforcement agencies use today is Total Information Sharing. A writer from the ISE network wrote regarding the new sharing information tactic, “Law enforcement information sharing has expanded significantly across all levels of government, improving law enforcement 's ability to detect, prevent, and respond to acts of terrorism. The sharing of law enforcement information is not a single integrated process.
They all point to the same key points including, but not limited to we must listen, develop an environment for our children where they can trust in seeking out and talking to adults and where they can feel a true and sincere sense of care and concern. Students must feel free to break the code of silence and share what they are hearing. The attacks are not sudden or impulsive, they are planned and typically someone knows from the behaviors and communications that a threat exists and these signs must not be ignored. The information must be shared and must be acted upon in a reasonable and responsible way as well as timely to prevent school-based shootings. We may never eliminate them but we must learn from the above information and the available research and use this information to act accordingly and

A new type of plague is upon the world. It is similar to no other disease, does not spread through ill, coughing lungs, and it will not contaminate a victim when sneezed on. It grows in thoughts and ideas of several different ages. However, that exposure has become prolonged much longer in the generation I call my own, kids thirteen to nineteen. The suicide rates of teens have skyrocketed in the last decade or so, causing countless preventable deaths, among my fellow students.
