Birth order stereotypes
Children from the same family may look a lot like each other but that doesn’t necessarily mean they act the same. Some might be more uptight as others are laid back, or one child could be wiser than the other. Many think this is because of the order in which they were born. In our class of 28 students, 8 are the oldest, 8 are the middle, 10 are the youngest, and 2 are only children. You will all hear some stereotypes that may apply to you or your siblings. Although there are outliers, birth order does have an effect of personality traits. According to many doctors studying birth order, there are stereotypes typical to each child, pertaining to his or her birth order.

Birth order isn’t the only factor that contributes to how a child turns out, but it does indeed play a big role.
Dr. Sulloway,a birth order expert, PhD, and author of Born to Rebel (Pantheon) says, “In fact birth order differences play nearly as strong of a role as gender differences. Dr. Sulloway is correct. I know this because I’ve been researching this topic for a couple weeks now and as it is not the only factor it is a major one. Siblings that come from the same family share only about half the same genes, which leads personality differences (birth order) to explain the other half. From studying this for a couple weeks I have definitely began to recognize traits in some of my classmates. The oldest will be a leader and very intelligent, the middle child will learn to compromise and see both sides of the story, and the youngest is full of energy and charm and isn’t going to back down for
