America, we are gathered here today as one united power, to work on a better future and reflect on our past.
7 score and 12 years ago, the black man was said to be “free”, this week we celebrate our new president Barack Obama. I am proud to say the least, not only has our magnificent nation made a lot of progress on civil rights and racial equality, but on such an anniversary we find ourselves at the second inauguration of our first African American President.

As a nation, we have taken crucial steps towards freedom; more blacks have opportunities to succeed, blacks who have received an education have been able to translate that education into opportunities for themselves and their families, there is a vibrant black middle class that mirrors …show more content…

Authorities have been blamed for not handling the violence, this is ridiculous, we have fought long and hard for more than a century to become equal, how can we do this if we still cannot accept ourselves. This violence in our nation is worse than ever, part of the problem is us, black America. Our leaders have been silent too long and now we’re in a position where violence in our neighborhoods is worse than Afghanistan.
I still dream that one day every valley would be exalted, and every hill and mountain made low, the rough places made plain, and the crooked places made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it …show more content…

We have tried to overcome racial discrimination by ignoring it, we cannot be deceived by this approach into thinking we’ve beaten racism when we have not. Police brutality and violence still haunts every black American as the history of our nation repeats itself, with misguided people that attempt to distort the minds of true Americans. These people will not stop until this great nation and all it stood for, collapses before them. To these people, I say, do you not have a family?
