On the plantation, slaves would attempt to slow down production as much as possible: many slaves broke tools and sang in a ritardando. The slaves of the south were so necessary to the plantation owners who used them to plant and pick their products. They were now expected to pay numerous people to do the same job which was in a way, taking away their income and forcing them to find another way to make money. The fact was that the South’s use of slavery was inhumane and needed to be put to an end. The Wade Davis Bill was best for the former slaves because it abolished slavery, however the conferdates did not see it as best for them because their whole way of life would change. In addition, No confederate officeal or veteran of the Civil War would be permitted to ever vote.
The US was built on the hard work and toil of millions of slaves. Even though the practice of slavery was encouraged for hundreds of years, Americans began to rethink and eventually came to oppose it. A growing opposition against slavery began because it took job opportunities from whites, it started to be recognized as inhumane and unjust, and it became hard to control and enforce.
Slaves did not have any say in what transpired. You could earn great amounts off slaves since they did all your work and worked hard, especially men, to serve all times. They had slaves work, which was an easy way for them to make money, because they didn’t have to do anything for themselves. The purpose of slavery was to serve, labor, pleasure and greed.
Slavery in the United States was the main form of labor in the late 1700’s. While being thought of as a normal way of life, many whites took in colored people as slaves for field work, house work, and much more. Their mistreatment and injustices began to raise red flags in the ethics of the society. From 1776 to 1852, opposition to slavery was quickly spreading as many forces caused the prolonged debate of slavery to come into question. The increase in the black population, the facts and rights outlined in the Declaration of Independence, and the harsh mistreatment of slaves were all factors in the continuous growth of the idea of abolition until eventual reconstruction after the Civil War in 1867.
In Document 6: A Speech Defending Slavery, it says "Until the "African can change his skin," it will be useless to try by any human power, to make free men of those God has doomed to be slaves.... " They didn't want to free the slaves because the American crop sales would go down 50% because there wouldn't be slaves to plant and harvest them. For example, in Document 6: A Speech Defending Slavery, it says " ...if all the slaves in these states were freed , the American crop would be reduced the very next year from 1,200,000 to 600,000 bales. The Confederate flag was first flown to show the secession of South Carolina from the union. South Carolina seceded from the union on the grounds that tariffs were being passed to the northern states. Even though in the south the flag meant slavery, the Confederate flag does not represent slavery, it represents a setting in time when slavery was acceptable. The confederate flag and the monuments have caused many debates and riots over the past couple of decades between the Confederates, people who believe in the flag and its monuments and the Federalist, people who oppose the flag and the monuments. I do believe that the Confederate flag should be removed because the flag is a part of history when one state refused to cooperate with the union and choose to secede.
Slavery should not be legal anywhere in America. The South should not own slaves for their own benefit. The South were not treating the slaves as humans but as properties, they do not feed enough for them nor give them warmth in the winter. These slaves are suffering from their masters

Did you ever say, implicitly or explicitly, that the lyrics of African-American songs are inappropriate, especially those of rappers such as N.W.A? Statistics say that 90 percent of our population have, and most of the time it was explicitly in front of black people. Now, did you ask yourself why is the language of African-Americans inappropriate? Statistics say that 70 percent of the american population doesn’t know the reason and thinks that because we are born black, we should be bad.
When you think of Black Lives Matter what do you think? A hate movement? Violence? Well it is in fact none of those things and this article is going to help you understand why. After the murder of Treyvon Martin in the year 2012 the Black Lives Matter movement was created in response to this unjust death.
Alicia Garza: co-creator of the #BlackLivesMatter movement (BLM) advocates that -“Black Lives Matter doesn’t mean your life isn’t important – it means that Black lives, which are seen as without value within White supremacy, are important to your liberation. Given the disproportionate impact state violence has on Black lives, we understand that when Black people in this country get free, the benefits will be wide-reaching and transformative for society as a whole. When we are able to end the hyper-criminalisation of Black people and end the poverty, control and surveillance of Black people, every single person in this world has a better shot at getting and staying free. When Black people get free, everybody gets free.” (The Conversation,2017).
Racism and equality have something that has been going on for a long time now, dating back to all the way when Martin Luther King gave his “I have a dream” speech. The topic racism is something that needs to be changed; we do not need it in the world we live in right now with everything that has been going on. The major thing that is going on right now is the topic of how cops treat African Americans. We have seen many cases of the cops shooting and killing blacks the past few years, and it is something that is becoming a major issue.
Okay look. I’m going to ask a question. Think hard and give a honest answer. How would it feel to know that you were frowned upon because of your skin color? Not cool, right?
