1.Introduction
The Black Death; the most tragic and disastrous disease in the middle ages.
The disease itself was so contagious and revolting that just breathing the same air of a victim could kill one the next morning.
Infectious and non preventable with middle age technology, the Black Death claimed over 75 million lives in western Europe (“Black Death”).

2. Body Paragraph 1 The start of the deadly disease was carried from overseas.
The Black Death first made it’s appearance in Europe by sea in October 1347 when 12 Genoese trading ships docked at the Sicilian port of Messina after a long journey through the Black sea (“Black Death”).
Rats and fleas called the ships home, which meant that they were a host for the disease, the plague …show more content…

Since the animals were mostly everywhere, the plague soon made it’s way through one European city to the next.

3. Body Paragraph 2
This contagious and disastrous disease was carried in many ways.
The plague is a contagious and efficient disease that was carried through the bloodstream of rats and fleas. Symptoms of the disease were chills, vomiting, diarrhea aches and pains, and lastly death.
The disease had three different variations, the first is the bubonic; swellings or buboes that appeared on the neck, armpits or groin.
The second was the pneumonic; this attacked the respiratory system that was spread by inhaling the air of a victim.
Lastly the third, the septicemic variation; this attacked the blood system.
Today scientist understand that the disease is spread by a bacillus called the Yersinia Pestis.

Middle age medicine could not help the preventing of this deadly disease.
Doctors and physicians did not know how to treat the Black Death, so they relied on crude and unsophisticated techniques such as bloodletting, boil lancing, and superstitious practices like burning aromatic herbs and bathing and rosewater and
