If Madison High School students were asked, “What is a Bronco?”, they might say a redneck, a hick, or a kid that goes to Blackfoot. When I am asked “What is a Bronco?”, the answer is simple--I am a Bronco, most of my friends are Broncos, my teammates are Broncos and the student body at Blackfoot High School are Broncos. We are each unique, but when our strengths and talents are combined as a whole, the Blackfoot Broncos are amazing. As a Bronco, I participate in football, speech and debate, and golf. I work hard and try to do my best in my classes. Each activity, each class, brings out a different skill or talent that I can contribute or strengthen. My friends are as individual as me and they don’t do exactly what I do. We are all unique cogs in the machine that is Blackfoot High School. It helps challenge and push me to be the best that I can possibly be while also trying to mentally establish dominance over my opponents. I’ve developed research skills, argumentation skills, presentation skills, and best yet I have made friendships from our own team and other teams. I’ve learned to like and respect students from all over southeast Idaho, even if they are not Blackfoot Broncos. If spending all your time collecting evidence is not your thing, then there are plenty of other options to choose from. BHS also has a nationally recognized We The People team. For the all the drama kids, we have the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center and the best drama teacher this side of the Mississippi, Mrs. Hoge. That is just the tip of the iceberg. Broncos are also newspaper writers, robot designers, Business Professionals of America, Future Farmers of America, welders, mechanics, carpenters, and artists.
