For example, my cousin does not have block schedule at his school and he said that he never gets the one on one connections with his teacher and sometimes needs more time with the teacher. He also said that the teacher doesn't always have time to finish the whole subject, which puts them behind in class. This example shows that because of not having block schedule it give them limited time in class not being able to complete a full topic. This causes them to fall behind and their grades could eventually drop. This proposal is beneficial to both students and teachers.

Every day after lunch you have Spartan Academic Training (SAT), which is a study hall where you get to do homework, watch the news and read. Every day after fourth period you also have Spartan Enrichment Time (SET).SET is where you choose clubs to go to such as, soccer, anime and gaming, chess, Chinese paper cutting, and many more. For three weeks, you have you go to that SET then switch to a different SET. Stressed and tired at the end of the day, SET gives us an opportunity to let loose and have fun!

For example, students spent more time in class and got to do less homework after school. Though block scheduling can be a good thing it can also be a bad thing. Schools with the traditional schedule save more money than schools with block scheduling.
The NEA (national education association) says, “Students have more time for reflection and less information to process over the course of the day.” Meaning students more time to learn the same amount of information they would learn normally. Doing block scheduling is preparing Parras students to go to high school. RUHS’ schedule is all classes on Monday, even periods on Tuesday and Thursday, and odd periods on Wednesday and Friday. I would like our middle school to do the same.

Block schedule is school day schedule system that offers four to five classes each day and the next day you go to your other four to five classes, continuing to alternate each day. This has been proven to help students behavior, performance, and reduce the homework load. As for teachers, block scheduling allows them to teach more in depth and help each student individually. Academically, students have higher GPA’s, fail less classes, and there is a larger amount of students on the honor roll when on block schedule. Although our class has never experienced block scheduling, switching back to it could be beneficial to our learning.

Four-day school weeks have the capability to change student lives. Every school should invest in the four-day school week plan.
