Based on Jack’s non-verbal cues and mannerisms, it is apparent that he feels slighted by the CFO’s agreement to go with Blue Onion as opposed to hiring temporary employees to complete the integration of the new system. That being said, there are a few things that could have been done by Mary Kate to avoid this hostility. First, Mary Kate could have met with Jack prior to sitting down to sign the contract. By seeing him as a part of the buying center, she could have addressed any objections he may have had and included him in the buying decision process; thereby removing the feeling of being undermined.
