In the play Raisin in the Sun written by Lorraine Hansberry takes place on the southside of Chicago where Walter and his family are racially profiled and show us how the survive throughout their struggles. The central struggles for the younger family in their search for the American dream is mostly poverty and being racially profiled against for their actions. Hansberry challenges the traditional gender roles and issues of dominance throughout the play when Mama gives Walter lee the rest of the money at the end of the play. He becomes all excited and was supposed to save some for himself and put the rest of the money to Beneatha 's education. Instead, he gave all that money to Willy another character in the play which later on that he stole from him.
We see this when at the very start of the novel, they are playing soccer when the ball goes missing. Bibi goes to find it and she finds it under a tank, then she yells "you squishy lump of camel snot","give us out ball back!" This shows us that she is an important character in the novel because she isn't afraid of many things and shows how she says what she wants. Brave also means sticking up for people that you love and care about. Bibi and Bobinot too are happy with their situation. The two of them get trapped at Friedheimer’s store when the storm derives. They make is home safe after the storm comes to a rest. At home, Calixta greets them, and she is very grateful that they have returned unharmed. Bobinot is confused from the joy and happiness that his wife is expressing because he assumes that Calixta is going to be upset with him.
The story of Young Goodman Brown is the story of a tale about the main character becoming aware of the hypocrisy of his faith as a Puritan. Through his travels in the woods at night, he unveils the truths, or what he believes as truths, about his wife Faith, neighbors, and fellow Christians. By the end, Brown loses all trust in his Faith, both literally and spiritually, and refuses to see any good in the world. The beginning scene where Goodman Brown meets the old man has the most significance in the story’s resolution. This is where his mistrust starts to form and where he experiences his first temptations to sin.
