Corning, N.Y. (WENY) -- Arbor Housing and Development has officially made an offer to buy the former Northside Blodgett Middle School. They made a $200,000 bid for the vacant Corning middle school. When the Europeans first arrived in Australia, Indigenous Australians lost all their land rights. This was mainly due to the Europeans claiming that Australia was Terra nullius. Terra Nullius was a international law stating that if territory was not owned, it was to be given to the first nation to discover it and entitled to take over. The Europeans did not recognise the Aboriginals and Torres Strait islander people as the traditional owners of Australia and therefore took all there land rights. The indigenous people were then constricted by the terra nullius rule from 1788 to 1991.
Multiple factors could have affected each one of the state’s and county’s decisions on whether they succeeded from the union or stayed loyal. The main historical factors under consideration were the number of slaves per white man, the agricultural wealth per white man, the availability of transportation by rail or water, and the percent slave population in respect to total population. I am evaluating ForKids and like Intercept Youth Services they work with kids and their families. They focus more on homeless families, but the programs they offer are very similar. Although your agency does offer other services that I think are great, like the services they have for young mothers. I think it will be a good learning experience for you evaluating an agency that works with different populations.
