Overall both agencies were professional and courteous to myself and from my observation to other clients. If needed I believe that the Family Links program would be appropriate and suitable for providing mental health services. However, at Hamlin FCCS there would need to be a referral made prior to requesting services. The staff appeared to be competent and approachable which may increase client engagement and participation.
The Foundation is looking at organizations that collaborate and strengthen systems of care. Preference is given to Baltimore, MD communities for the veterans. Eligible organizations are committed to mental health and the elimination of barriers, have the ability to demonstrate long term outcomes. The eligible organization must have an (501)( c )(3) and has existing services for veterans. I am confident this RFP is worth pursuing because the grant proposal includes the organizations eligibility and demonstrates various preferences aligned with the Foundation and the goals of grant seeker (Ward, 2012).
It is amazing how the organization has become well developed, known throughout the states and the process of being international. From my learning and experience interacting with Kevin Xiong, I believe Hmong American Partnership have great potential and is a strong organization. As well, their focal point on refugee and immigrant clients is a well organize and passionate concentrate. The practice methods I think benefits to the field of social work practice are having great leaderships such as Kevin Xiong who is passionate of its social actions. If the fields of social work are to have social workers with the greatest involvement in social actions it will benefit and improve the
These various programs are attempts to instill positive behavior and development in youth and to strengthen families.
The agency I was placed at was American Senior Assistance Programs. American Senior Assistance Programs is Huntsville’s first care management company that ensures that seniors get the best quality of life. This company’s mission is to keep their clients in the least restricted environment as possible. As an intern, I have been able to get a board perspective on what a Social worker does with care management.

The All Stars Project-Chicago SWOT Analysis Through the All Stars Project, over 53, 820 inner-city youth are given opportunities to transform their lives through the power of performance. This nonprofit reaches some of our nation’s most marginalized youth in six different cities: New York, Bridgeport, Chicago, Dallas, and the San Francisco Bay Area. The All Stars Project of Chicago has many strengths, including its direct response to the surrounding community’s need, and its status as a privately funded nonprofit; which overshadow its weaknesses of having a small staff and office space. There are many opportunities for growth including expanding partnerships with Chicago Public Schools and other similar organizations, and eventually expanding
For my ethical leadership paper I choose the Boy Scouts of America organization. The reason that I choose the Boy Scouts of America was that I could not think of a more ethical organization than them. The reason that they are so ethical is that they train young men every day to put other people before there selves when they do community service. A very good example of this would be in 2008 four boy scouts were killed trying to help others before there selves when a tornado hit a camp site in Iowa (Del,J 2008). This show a type of leadership that many people would not understand unless they went through the program.
For this assignment, I received the opportunity to interview a clinical social worker. Jeny Thomas, LMSW and she works at Lifeline Center for Child Development, which is located in Queens. Ms. Thomas received her MSW from NYU Silver School of Social Work The purpose, history, and mission of the agency The Lifeline Center for Child Development P23Q is a school age program. It is a non-profit day treatment center for children who are mentally or emotionally disturbed.
The Virtual Child assignment was a new world for me especially because I have never so much as changed a diaper. I learned how some situations for parents are tough like balancing work and children especially when you want save money to settle down in a home. Overall this experience gave me first hand experience in making the tough decisions and watching children develop in all aspects: language, cognitive, emotional, etc. The program was beneficial because it taught me how a little decision can affect your child’s upbringing. Lastly the program taught me firsthand how child think and act as a result of them trying to learn as much from the surrounding

My community placement is at Brampton Caledon Community Living. The community is mostly for adults and people with intellectual and physical disabilities. It works to support and empower all people in the area and it works alongside the community and families in the community. Most of the people that attend the program are adults that live with either their parent(s) or a family member (low income) in Bolton. To help reach out to and accommodate to families with lower income, the center charges a small fee for the adult to attend.
I want to improve the CPS systems especially, because of work overload a lot of children are suffering. Eventually, I would like to open my own agency that will not only empower and/or encourage children to be there better self but will also secure them a future in life. An agency that is truly going to bring in positive and great results and would not consist of burnouts/work overload. Experience as a Student In undergraduate school, there were a lot of good moments, as well as struggling moments.
I am applying for a place to study social work because I have always wanted to be able to make a difference to people's lives. With social work I believe I can do this in a caring and supportive way. Many of my life experiences have led me to who I am today. The first thing I remember that caught my attention was how my cousin would always stay with my family. He would be spent weeks with at my house without contract with his parents.
I was able to learn how to organize and run a workshop and that gives me good experience in the future. I have never worked with homeless families before and this was a great learning experience because I would be able to better understand how to work with homeless families in the future. During this workshop, I had the ability to use all the counseling skills that I have learned in the program with real people and it was great to see myself be successful with the attendees. After this program, I was leaning on working with individuals with mental health and substance abuse disorders but now I will also consider homeless families moving
