In a time of depression and penniless citizens, there was a woman who was as rich as she wanted to be. Alongside her soulmate, she traveled the country as freely as she could. When in need of something, she stole it. If someone tried to stop her, she killed them. Eventually, her freedom will come to an end, but her legacy will live on forever. This woman is Bonnie Parker. Origin of Bonnie Parker Bonnie Parker was born in the small but growing railroad town of Rowena, Texas on October 1, 1910, to Henry and Emma Parker. The Barrow gang would go back to Dallas and continue their criminal activities, but with a lot more attention. Often if there was a murder or robbery, Parker and Barrow were blamed for it even if they were not in that area (Parker 140). Parker, Clyde Barrow, Jones, Buck Barrow, Buck Barrow, and Blanch Barrow would continue to travel throughout the South and Midwest. The gang traveled to Iowa on July 29th, 1933. On this day they had a shootout with law enforcement that killed Buck Barrow and Blanche Barrow was captured (“Bonnie and Clyde”). Jones would later leave the gang shortly after this incident, and then be arrested for murdering a police officer (Guinn). Now it was just Parker and Barrow committing their crimes. Occasionally they would have an accomplice, but no one stayed with them for a while. They would continue to rob small shops and banks in the southern United States (Guinn). Officers would attempt to capture the fugitive pair, but often would fail. In November of 1933, the Dallas Texas sheriff’s department set up a trap for the couple, but they were able to escape the gunfire. After this, they stole a different car and abandoned it in Miami, Oklahoma. On January 16, 1934, they managed to set five prisoners free from the Eastham State Prison Farm in Waldo, Texas (“Bonnie and Clyde”). While it seemed like Parker and Barrow were unstoppable, their crimes would soon come to an end. The Death and Legacy of Bonnie Parker The year was 1934 and the outlaw couple Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow are as active as ever. They continued to rob banks and convenience stores, kidnap officers, and make headlines. In the spring of 1934, Parker and Barrow had wounded, killed, and kidnapped several officers. After two years on the run, law enforcement needed to stop them. This would not be a simple task with Barrow’s ability to “smell
