In Singer’s essay, “The Singer Solution to World Poverty,” the author begins by presenting the reader with the heartfelt scenario of the cost of a child vs. the cost of a new TV. Singer discusses how child trafficking with the intent of organ harvesting is the equivalent of purchasing a brand-new TV because in both cases one can improve conditions for children around the world, either by saving their life or by donating money to help them. Next, Singer goes into the narrative of a man named Bob. Bob has his entire life savings put into a precious Bugatti. However, Bob must make the choice to save his car or to flip the lever and save a child stuck on the railroad tracks.
Peter Singer argues that prosperous people should donate their excess money to the overseas aid groups. When saying this, he believes Americans should stop spending their money on luxuries such as a TV, a computer, a car, and videogames. Instead of spending money on items such as that, he thought we should start sending money to those who are starving in other countries and need our help. There are pros and cons to Singer’s argument and both can be greatly supported.

As 2017 came to an end and the new year began citizens of The United States of America began focusing on the negative instead of the positive because of what was happening in the world. What these citizens missed was that there have been some really great things to happen amongst the chaos. These women are household names not only because of their respective talk shows but because of their humanitarian efforts as well. What is a humanitarian?

Lost honor of Katherina Blum, in my opinion is trying to show, that how she was actually a good person, how she was just trying to help, and wasn’t really involved in anything bad or wrong, but just because of the media, people started to think that she was a bad person, a prostitute, a person that would do anything just for her pleasure. And even though, she tried to clear that, and prove that she’s not such a person, her honor was gone and lost. Because at the end, she was still a bad person in people’s opinion. It tried to show that when someone’s honor, or dignity is gone, it’s not easy to bring it back, no matter how hard you try.
Did you know that bloody Sunday was one of the worst massacres in Washington state history? Also known as the Everett Massacre. This day many people died. There was corruption and it was not a good time altogether. And the IWW (industrial workers of the world) had the most control over everyone because they were so big.
Canada has tried to right their many wrongs of the past, but no number of apologies can fix the past.
As a Master’s student in Justice, Law & Criminology completing my degree in May 2016, I would be an excellent fit for the Youth and Conflict Research and Learning Internship with Mercy Corps. I was alerted to the internships with your organization by a professor and have spoken with Ms. Beza Tesfaye in the past regarding such opportunities. I believe that my demonstrated dedication to understanding violence, my technical research skills, and my varied work experience equip me to serve Mercy Corps’s mission to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities. In my coursework, I have studied a variety issues related to violence, crime, law, and justice.

Second semester of my sophomore year is when my life got flipped around. It was the middle of the season for basketball when I was struck by a knee on my shoulder at practice. I didn 't think much about it at the time, all I knew was that I was in pain. I was a starting post on JV as well as a full time varsity player. The last thing I needed was to get injured when my basketball career was just getting started.
"Reconciliation will not work if it puts a higher value on symbolic gestures rather than the practical needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in areas like health, housing, education and employment." Warren Mundine AO Reconciliation is the action of making one view or belief compatible with another according to the Oxford dictionary of English. The term reconciliation was used as a symbolic gesture in an address made on February 13th 2008 by the former Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd. Kevin Rudd was the first political figure to speak out and seek reconciliation for the Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders after being elected as prime minster in 2007. He spoke out after many generations of mistreated Indigenous Australians that had their rights and equality continuously ignored, but after all that has happened, including the effect of broken families, which still in 2018 have the aftermath of "The stolen generation", there was only one public apology and no compensation for the damages caused to the native people of this country.
Good evening. Citizens of this breathtaking country and beyond. During the past 57 days, the Germans have had the audacity to turn 60% of our city: London, England to ruins. With this we find deep anger and astonishment that a leader would be willing to kill innocent civilians in attempt to gain power. During this time we will stand against their fascist ideas and not react to their terrorism.
